We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic and hardworking sixth formers to join our team of tutors. While academic achievement is important, we prioritise strong communication and patience skills. If you think you'd be a great fit, please complete our application form. We'd love to chat and see if you could be a good fit for the Syper Education team. You'll find an overview of what we look for in our tutors below.
Key Qualities
Enthusiasm
While tutoring, your attitude is infectious. Staying enthusiastic in every lesson, keeps students motivated and excited about learning.
Patience
Every student has different strengths and challenges. Whether it's concentration or an academic difficulty, you always need to stay on the student's side through it.
Confidence is required to effectively communicate with both students and parents so everybody is on the same page.
Confidence
Consistently completing lesson reports and attending team catch-ups is important to your development as a tutor.
Organisation
Passionate
Syper tutors are passionate about helping neurodivergent students. This means going the extra mile to find solutions to unique problems.
Collaborative
Engaging with other Syper tutors through catch-up calls, gives you the opportunity to share knowledge and develop new ideas.
Thinking differently is a strength
We know that being neurodivergent in the comprehensive school system can be frustrating! Syper values tutors with this first-hand experience who have overcome challenges to succeed in their chosen subjects.
Spiky profiles are a defining characteristic of people who think differently. This may result in your grades being far higher in some subjects than others. We are only interested in your GCSE grades for the subjects you would tutor in.
